It takes a community to raise a child
WHO WE ARE
Te Aranui Youth Trust is a not for profit organisation that works with vulnerable children in the Western Bay of Plenty.
THE TRUST
Working in conjunction with the NZ Police and Ministry of Education we provide a number of interventions for vulnerable youth between the ages of 7-14.
Founded over 20 years ago from a desire to provide disadvantaged youth with the tools for a positive future, the trust provides role models who help to instil a sense of pride in the children, teaching them life skills that are taken for granted by many.
We work from Katikati to Maketu, in the Tauranga/Mount Maunganui Bay of Plenty locality so you can be sure you are helping someone close to home in your local community.
OUR KIDS
The trust deals with a wide range of children who may have experienced poverty, domestic violence, drug/alcohol abuse and the social challenges that arise from these issues. These children are highlighted and identified through various agencies for interventions.
TAYT generally works with children for up to 3 years. Whether it is taking them out for coffee and a chat or helping to fund interventions to support their learning or sports. The trust runs a variety of programmes aimed at increasing and encouraging positive behaviour and decision making.
OUR PROGRAMMES
SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL & FUN FOR KIDS
