We had two awesome bangers last month. Firstly, we went to Gate Pa school and spent lunchtime eating sausages and playing ripper rugby with Gate Pa students. It was a fun filled lunch time where Community Youth Services Officer – Tawhai Schuster got rather competitive during our ripper rugby session. We loved the enthusiasm and Tawhai most definitely earnt her lunchtime sausage and bread! We also had a beautiful time on Matakana Island at their Kura.
We were able to spend a few hours with the rangatahi of Matakana and had a morning filled with activities. Our group set up a team building obstacle course, educated the rangatahi about the police and let them try on uniforms and play around with the lights and sirens in the police vehicles. It was great to see the rangatahi of Matakana have lots of fun with our Police as they have very little contact with them on the island.
